Margaret DUNCAN Obituary

Margaret Ellen Duncan "Bonnie" September 20, 1940 - February 3, 2024 The day she was born, her grandmother exclaimed: 'What a sweet bonnie lass!' Hence, our beautiful Bonnie. She was the youngest child of Peggy and Bill Duncan; sister of Gordon (Wendy), Sue (Joe Aziz); and predeceased by Dinny and Jay Murray. She leaves many nieces and nephews, along with their families who loved her dearly. Also grieving are her special lifelong friends, Peggy Ford, Anne Saso and Cathy Warda. Bonnie attended Lambton Kingsway P.S., Etobicoke C.I., Western University and Toronto Teachers College. She taught for many years at inner city schools, enriching kids' lives outside the classroom foraging for the 'Wiggly Worms,' etc., of the natural world. Bonnie was a unique and special person who marched to her own drum. Bright, curious, kind and unconventional. She spent her last years living with niece, Cindy Van Ryn, with Anne Murray close by. They have been peaceful happy times. 'Sweet Dreams Dear Bon.'

Bonnie - always alive in my thoughts: My favourite memory is of our adventure to visit Barbara Joan in Kennebunkport - lots of laughter and searching out nurseries, plants & flowers galore. What a fun person you are!

Very sorry that I won't be able to celebrate Bonnie with you in person. I've many fond memories of many fun times together, from Gull Lake all the way to June Currie's 90th! Time flies...

Rest in peace, dear Bonnie, and much love to Gord and everyone else.

Bonnie was our dear neighbour in Pontypool for many of her final years. Her warm heart and lovely smile always made us feel welcome. We shared many, many meals, informal gatherings and fun times with her. Things are just not the same on Sandy Hook Road without her. Rest well, Bonnie. You will be loved and missed for many years to come.
