Margaret FULLERTON Obituary

Margaret "Francesca" Fullerton (nee Harrison) passed away peacefully, May 14, 2024, in her 100th year, surrounded by family at "Willowsands," Cobourg, Ontario. Mum was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, James John Fullerton. Mother of Anne (Mark Pritzker), John, Jane (Daniel Meyerhans) and Juliet (John Morand). Loving grandmother of Jennifer Dallas MacLean (John MacLean), Michael Fullerton (Morgan Pel), Kate Fearnall, Andrea Fearnall and Sarah Meyerhans. Proud great-grandmother "GiGi" of Winston, Imogen, Quentin and Dorian. Mum was predeceased by her sister, Juliet Elizabeth Harrison-Renner; and her brother, Dr. Robert Michael Cantilupe Harrison. Born in Bengal, India, to Dr. Cecil Cantilupe Harrison and Juliet Marion Menzies (nee Dallas), Mum attended St. Hilda's and St. Margaret's, Bushey, schools in England. In July 1940, Mum and her brother, Michael, were evacuated to Canada, leaving her parents and elder sister, Juliet, in England. Mum attended Forest Hill Collegiate, Branksome Hall, and the University of Toronto, graduating in 1947 from Household Sciences. Mum was a teaching dietitian for two years at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal where she met her beloved husband, James. In 1951, Mum and Dad married in Montreal and moved to Cobourg, Ontario, where they raised their family. Later in life, Mum founded and ran Share Info and was also the County of Northumberland Law Librarian. Mum was also a member of Probus and a proud Victoria Hall Volunteer and was an active member of St. Peter's Church. Mum was a kind, gracious and loving mother, always with open arms to hug. Mum liked to read, walk on the beach, collect stones, wildflowers and share her love of nature with family and friends. Each year when Seville oranges arrived in stores, Mum and her sister shared their love of marmalade making with the family. Mum's faith, love of family, friends and gentle spirit was simply marvelous – we will miss her. Please join us in a celebration of Mum's life to be held at St. Peter's Church, Cobourg, Ontario, 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 5, 2024. A reception following at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Anglican Church or Northumberland Food for Thought.
