(née Jones) Born February 5, 1944, in Montreal, Frances Margaret died peacefully, on August 16, 2025, in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Predeceased by her parents, Elwyn David Jones and Dulais (née Aubert); and brother, Trevor Jones. She is survived by her beloved husband, Alan Gibson, with whom she shared nearly six decades of partnership, marriage and adventure. Cherished parent of Duane Gibson, Brett Gibson (Éva), and Cara Gibson (Jack Bissell); and proud nan (grandmother) of Claire, Vivian, and Felix. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Helen Ellis and Victor Jones (Muriel); and by nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. Margaret's life was marked by brilliance, elegance, and courage. When Alan first saw her at McGill graduate school, she was striking - a woman of independence and resolve, with a sharp intellect and a warm smile that lit every room. She championed fairness early in her career, pressing for equal pay for women, and later helped remove barriers in Quebec law so women could buy cars and homes in their own name. She built a distinguished and varied career, holding senior positions in the fashion, airline, and technology industries, including serving as an airline Vice President. Later she joined Alan at TriVar Inc., where, as Director of Sales and Marketing, she guided certifications, quality systems, and training with extraordinary competence. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Margaret had a cultural spirit: pianist, reader, lover of ballet, opera, and art. With Alan she skied, danced, and sailed Griffwn across some 42,000 nautical miles on Lake Ontario. Together they shared not just voyages but a rhythm in life - working side by side, dancing with exuberance, and raising their family with warmth, traditions, and adventure. A gifted cook, she was famous for her elegant and vibrant family dinners. Her true artistry lay in the honesty, delight, and optimism she brought to all she did. Her life was guided by fairness, kindness, and an unshakable optimism - in her words, "A half-full glass is an opportunity to fill it with joy." She will be remembered as a woman of integrity, spirit, and love, who touched lives deeply, leaving a legacy of sincerity and courage.
