February 16, 1931 - February 28, 2026 Margaret (Peggy) Rooks passed away peacefully at the Waterford Retirement Home in Kingston at the age of 95. Peggy was married to the late Robert John Rooks and was the loving mother of Doug, Jan (deceased) (Grant), Sue, and Ally (Shane). Cherished grandma of Nick, Eleni (Alex), Maddy, Katie, and Brooke. Predeceased by her mother Alice, father William, and sister Heather McCallum. Peggy was born in Toronto and over the years also lived in North Bay, Sudbury, Burlington and Kingston. She earned her Master of Arts in Psychology at the University of Toronto and, for many years, worked as a clinical psychologist on an assessment team for children with disabilities at the Hugh MacMillan Centre (now the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehab Hospital). While raising their young family, Peg and Rob built a cottage on Crane Lake and enjoyed many happy summers there with family and friends. Peggy was a keen Scrabbler, and enjoyed games with whomever she could entice to play. Married for 64 years, Peg and Rob loved to travel and were Foster Parents for 60 years with their university friends, supporting more than 30 children around the world. Peggy taught her children to knit and crochet and later took up the art of rug hooking. She created dozens of beautiful rugs that are treasured by friends and family. Peggy thoroughly enjoyed whenever her family gathered, and was very proud of her children and grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the Waterford and Evolve Home Care staff who kept Peggy engaged and comfortable in her last few years. Peggy was well loved by all at the Waterford for her kind, gentle nature, sweet smile and sense of humour. She had many friends there and enjoyed the company of her caregivers. A private family ceremony will be held at a future date. In remembrance, donations may be made to BC Children's Hospital. Condolences may be sent to the family at
