MARGERY McDOWELL "Marnie" (née Holmes) Died peacefully, at age 96, in Briton House Retirement Residence on the morning of October 4, 2023. Marnie was predeceased by her first husband, William Blake Wilson (1970); and by her second husband, Ralph McDowell (1998). Marnie's children, Linda (Grant), David (Laura), Blake and Graham (Michelle); and her grandchildren, Sarah, Cameron, Adam (Linda), Leanne and Samantha (David), Aidan, Siena, Logan and Owen (Graham) will greatly miss her. Marnie's family owes a huge debt of gratitude to the Briton House nursing staff and Marnie's personal caregivers. Thank you. After retiring as Corporate Secretary of The Premier Trust Company, Marnie served with distinction as President of the Women's University Club of Toronto, Women's Canadian Club of Toronto and the Princess Margaret Hospital Auxiliary. She was President of the Auxiliary when the hospital hosted a rare visit in 1993 by its Patron, the late Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon. Bridge was one of Marnie's passions. She played weekly at her clubs and hosted regular bridge luncheons for her friends. Marnie also loved to travel and was an avid gardener. She combined these two passions in trips to London for the annual Chelsea Flower Show. Marnie lived life to the full and she left a legacy of warm thoughts and happy memories. VITA BENE VIXIT
