MARGOT McTAVISH Obituary

May 11, 1956 - March 29, 2025 Following a brief, brave battle with cancer, Margot leaves behind her soulmate, Al Avdovich, their relationship the bookends to her life. Margot and Al dated in the 1970s and happily reunited in retirement. Al will miss his "honey bunny" until they are reunited in eternity. Margot was the beloved stepmother and friend of Sarah (Chris) Simmons; and Nanny to Benjamin and Claire. Margot was predeceased by her loving parents, Evelyn and Stewart McTavish; and Al's sons, Matthew and Sean. Margot will be missed by her brother, Chris, extended family, friends, clients and members of the design and arts communities in Brantford and the surrounding area. She was a talented artist, designer and creative, making lifelong friends with many of her clients over the years. She was a proud entertainer, hostess and cook, and loved inviting others in to make memories in the beautiful home she designed and shared with Al. Margot enjoyed partnering with Al as the "Two Unique Antiques," spending spare time sourcing and selling Canadian Pine furniture at a number of booths over the years. She was funny, quick and always told it like it is. We imagine Margot is now painting the sky with colours more vibrant than she could have ever imagined. Our lives are a little less colourful without Margot's sparkle. She is missed. She is loved. She is remembered in our hearts forever. Special thanks to the nursing staff in the oncology and palliative care departments of the Brantford General Hospital for the compassion and care of dear Margot during her final days.

It was my great fortune to enjoy Margot's company over the years. She was my little (by 2 years) cousin. We had many adventures - Bowmanville, Whitby, Spain, Burlington. She was my Maggie and I was her Care. Her bright light, artistic talents, sense of humour and joie de vivre live on in my heart. Al, you were the love of her life and soul mate. My condolences....xo Care
