Marianne ROGERS Obituary

MARIANNE WARWICK ROGERS August 13, 1934 - March 21, 2018 An ardent lover of life and longtime aficionado of northern rivers, Lenard Cohen, and fairly priced scotch, passed away on the early morning of March 21st. A woman who knew herself, in the Buddhist sense of the word, Marianne Warwick Rogers spent her mornings perched on a yoga mat, and her afternoons spreading love and happiness to all those so fortunate to have known her. As the daughter of the late Guy and Mary Rogers; mother to Anne Rogers-Degeer (Richard) and Michael Shearson; grandmother to Kristina, Diego, Jennifer, Christopher, Matthew, Sarah, and Laura; sister of Winnifred and Gay - her love and inspiration lives on in the memories and actions of those closest to her. Had you known Merry Marianne (a.k.a. Gummy), you would know that, on the morning of the 21st, the world lost one of the finest humans to have roamed the earth. Next time you're feeling blue, look to the sky and think of Marianne, a feminist before feminism, a woman who carried her own packs and killed her own snakes. There will be a reception to celebrate her life at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East, Cobourg, on Monday, March 26th from 1 to 4 p.m. Those wishing, may make a memorial donation to a charity of their choice. Condolences received at www.MacCoubrey.com. She will be deeply missed but the love and understanding of Marianne will live on for generations. Happy travels Gummy!
