Oshawa Catholic High School days

Sister Marie was one of my favourite teachers. She was my Latin teacher in Grade 9 at Oshawa Catholic High School. Since I was proficient in Latin from being an altar boy and assisting at Latin Tridentine Masses, Sister Marie gifted me with a translation of Winnie The Pooh in Latin. I still have that book to this day which I treasure. She left an indelible mark on me, and her kindness towards me was a lodestar in my impressionable youth.

Sincere condolences to her families of relatives and the Sisters of Saint Joseph.

Rest in peace dear Sister.

I worked with Sister Marie Howorth at St. Joseph's College School for many, many years. She was a wonderful teacher, a wonderful colleague and someone who always had the best interest of her students in her heart. I am so very glad that she was such a good part of my teaching memories at St. Joe's and I know many students from many years and many teachers will be thinking of her with great fondness today. Thank you Sister Marie for your dedication, your sense of humour and your love.
My deepest condolences to Sister's family and her family of Sisters of St. Joseph and all her friends. She will be missed but she enriched the lives of so many and I am thankful that I knew her.

I had the pleasure of meeting Sister Marie at a very difficult time in my life, while both volunteering on a committee for the founding of St.Joseph High School,Islington by the Sisters of St. Joseph(50 year anniversary 1999 celebrations).
Her compassion and encouragement inspired me to carry on and be strong. She sent me little prayer cards/encouraging words she had written...just lovely. She genuinely cared.
I always enjoyed her company, her humour, & her beautiful smile that would light up her eyes. I can hear her chuckle.
I have no doubt that she made a difference in many lives, because I know how she touched mine.

My deepest heartfelt condolences to her Sisters of St.Joseph, her family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sister Marie you have served OUR Father well, May you rest in peace in HIS Kingdom of Heaven.
God Bless.
