Marie MILDE

With deep sorrow we announce that Marie Milde passed away on September 8, 2024, in London, Ontario. Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Michael. She leaves behind her daughter, Michaela (David Monod); son, Michael (Valerie Mills-Milde); granddaughters, Clara Milde (Joey Berger), Margaret Milde (Jim Schutz) and Emma Monod; grandson, Adam Monod (Marisa de Souza); great-grandson, Jeremy Berger; and great-granddaughter, Ada Milde-Schutz. Her family meant the world to her. Born in Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, she moved to Prague to study law. There, she met and married Michael, and after graduation from Charles University went on to serve as a civil court judge for over 10 years. The family then moved to Montreal in 1966, and Canada became their permanent new home. Marie and Michael moved to London, Ontario, in 2009 to be closer to family in Southwestern Ontario. There they found a caring community of friends and neighbours with whom Marie continued to enjoy many gatherings with home cooking and lively conversation. A private cremation has taken place. The memorial Mass will be celebrated in The Lady Chapel at St. Peter's Cathedral Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, London, on Friday, November 1st at 10 a.m. Reception to follow at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James, at Richmond.
