MARILYN CLARKE Obituary

With heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the passing of Marilyn "Dale" Clarke at Bethell Hospice in Caledon, Ontario. Born January 21, 1948, at Toronto's Wellesley Hospital to parents, Jean and Neil Kennedy, Dale will be deeply missed by her husband of 57 years, Bill; daughter, Jennifer (Eric); son, Jeffrey (Erin); and grandchildren, Nathan, Joelle, and Kai; as well as her brother, Russell (Betty); sister, Diane; brother-in-law, Robert (Nancy); and her many nieces and nephews and their families. Dale was predeceased by her sister, Donna. Raised in Cobourg, Ontario, Dale pursued her dream of becoming a nurse at the Wellesley School of Nursing (1969), followed by her B.Sc. Nursing (Honours) and member of the Dean's Honour List at York University (1997) Dale's family thanks the doctors and staff at St. Michael's and Sunnybrook Hospitals for their care, and the staff and volunteers at Bethell Hospice for their incredible loving care, hospitality and empathy during Dale and Bills' last few weeks together. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Odette Cancer Program at Sunnybrook Hospital or to the Bethell Hospice Foundation.

Although I lost touch with Dale, I have always remembered her irreverent sense of humour and the many good times we shared. We worked together in the Outpatients Department at The Wellesley Hospital. Condolences to Bill and family.

Dear Bill & family, we are so very sorry to learn of Dale's passing. She was a joy to work with at Peel Public Health, and it was fun to connect with her at Lake Couchiching. You all are in our thoughts and prayers. She will be missed.

So sorry to hear this. My deepest condolences to all the family. I knew Dale from when she was supervisor in Public Health at the Region of Peel. May she RIP.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am a fellow graduate of Dale's from Wellesley Hospital, Class of '69. Although we were not on the same floor in residence, we always connected at our reunions and enjoyed our talks together. I did try to reach out in the later fall to Dale but I did not get a response back. My hope was that she was enjoying her family as she should. What a delightful, funny intelligent and warm friend she was. Much love to all of you in her family.

I was so very shocked and saddened to see Dale´s obituary in the G&M today. Dale was a Wellesley classmate and lived on the same 3rd floor residence as I did down the hall. Dale had the unenviable task of answering the residence bank of phones which was right outside her door. I last saw Dale at our 50th reunion. She truly did not look any older. I would have recognized her anywhere. Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. Donna
