PAYNE, Marilyn Jane ;Dede (nee Craig)
On September 9, 1999, Marilyn died at Groves Memorial Hospital with her family at her side. Marilyn was born in 1927 in London, Ontario, the daughter of the late A. Ivan and Amy B. Craig. Always known for her vivacious social personality, creative abilities, sense of humour and love of life, she is survived by her beloved husband J. Kenneth Payne, her children; Craig and his wife Mary, Ian and his wife Catherine, and Steacy and her husband Mark. Proud Nanna of the grandchildren who were always the light of her life; Ivan, Morgon, Stephanie and Alexander. She is also survived by her brother David of Newmarket. Her brother Dr. Bruce Craig of Ottawa predeceased her in 1992. Marilyn graduated in Nursing in 1949 from Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario. She donated her body to the University of Toronto for anatomical studies. A private family memorial will be held in Marilyn's honour. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to friends and neighbours for their many kindnesses and support. We also thank the excellent staff of the Community Care Access Centre of Wellington-Dufferin and of Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus. If desired, in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Lung Association or to a charity of your choice. May the sun rise to greet you May the wind be always at your back, and ;May you be in Heaven a full half hour Afore the devil knows ye're dead.
