Marina BRANIGAN Obituary



BRANIGAN, Marina Egle (née Pavilanis)
Born January 30, 1956 in Montréal. Marina passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Melbourne, Australia on July 15, 2012. She was the loving wife of Gerald for 38 years. Beloved mother of Audra and Erin, sister of Alan (Rasa), Christine (Andrius) Gaputis and Ingrid (Tim Buckley), and sister- in-law of Patti (Edwin) Yen and Bob (Corinne). Daughter of the late Dr. Vytautas Pavilanis and Mrs. Irene Pavilanis. Aunt to Laurene and Ian Yen, Owen and Megan Branigan, Antonina, Claudia and Kristijonas Pavilanis, Emma and Patrick Buckley and Gintaras and Richard Gaputis. Marina's approach to life was enthusiastic and full of love. Her ability to make and maintain strong friendships was one of her gifts. She and Gerald lived overseas for the past 20 years, enjoying their time in Jakarta, Abu Dhabi, and Melbourne to name but a few. A private family interment will occur. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 1 at 2:00 pm at Ausros Vartu, Our Lady Gate of Dawn at 1465 Rue de Seve in Montréal, QC. There will be a Memorial Reception the following week on Saturday, September 8 at 11:45 am to 3:00 m at the Cambridge Mill, 130 Water St N in Cambridge, ON. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations to the Humane Society of Canada be made.
