Marion graduated from the University of Western Ontario, where she made many wonderful lifelong friends as a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She attended the University of Guelph for graduate work, focusing her research on education and international studies. Marion was an active member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Kirkton, during her childhood and throughout her life St. Paul's remained her spiritual home. Marion's career included teaching at Mohawk College in Hamilton, as director of student services at Olds College in Olds, Alberta and as president of Old Sun Community College in Siksika, Alberta. From 1988 until 2008, Marion was director of student services at Ryerson University in Toronto. Her dedication to empowering women through education, business ventures, and leadership is her legacy. Marion moved to Olds, AB in 2018, and moved into the Good Samaritan Society Clearwater Centre in Rocky Mountain House, AB in early 2020. Through her diligent work as an educational administrator and through her warm smile and hearty laughter, Marion had a tremendous impact on so many people she encountered over the years. She will be dearly missed. A memorial service to celebrate Marion's life will be held in Huron County in 2022 to allow for all family and friends to gather safely and with joy, as Marion would wish. I worked briefly for Marion Creery, when she was Director of Student Services at Ryerson University. I will remember Marion as a leader who was a kind, compassionate soul who bravely found the funds to start up Aboriginal Student Services. The Indigenous community is forever grateful.

Marion was a dear friend, fellow teacher, mentor and an amazing woman. We put on a celebration for the year of the woman at Mohawk ..the Suffragettes Picnic on the front lawn of Mohawk and our last meeting was a shared trip to Bermuda. I loved her and was upset when we lost touch. I will always remember her. Love jackie

Marion was an amazing person and friend. As long as I Knew her, she was a strong and determinant supporter of human rights and personal service
As a fellow teacher, she was appreciated for her bright mind and ability to relate and care for her students.
Our work together on the Suffragettes Picnic was so special. She was a mentor and special friend and I miss her so. Love Jackie Donnelly

Marion was one of the greatest mentors that I've ever had! I quite simply wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for her. Her incredible smile permiated the halls of Ryerson University and our Student Services Division. Long before there was any concept of Indigenous Initiatives funding, she found the dollars to bring that Office to life. She taught me one of the most valuable personal and professional lessons I've ever learnt which was, regardless of the hurdles or challenges, to "just keep moving forward." God bless you Marion, I and countless others owe you so very much!
