I have meet this Wonderful lady of the family that used to come over to guernsey quite often and share a lot of memories that she used to tell me while I was doing the the ironing what an Interesting lady and I shared most of my past of my family with her as well she was a very caring lady and I will always remember with Laughter and love ❤ xx god bless her

Norman bad I remember Marion very fondly. She was our pew-mate at Grace Church on the Hill. We loved visiting with Marion every Sunday. She was quite the statistician about the Blue Jays and the Leafs and I had to make a real effort to keep up with her. I was with her at church just the week before her death. We loved her sunny disposition, bright intellect and sense of humour. I know she loved her family very much.

Marion was a wonderful person when I knew her at Grace Curch Forest Hill. We attended church and Bible Study together. I know that she will be very happy that she will be resting in peace now. May God bless her and all her family. She was a wonderful and caring nurse with alot of patients. She carried her nursing ideals with her throughout her lifetime. I am so glad that I knew her. Her faith was strong. In Christ's name. Amen

My mom, Jean Taylor (Van Meer), was also a classmate of Marion’s at Toronto General Hospital. Mom loved telling stories of her days in training and of all of the wonderful friends she made during those ‘crazy’ days. Throughout the years that followed, it was wonderful to see how they all kept in touch and shared stories of growing families and great adventures regardless of what far corner of the earth they found themselves. Who could forget those wild reunions? Mom always loved to receive those Christmas cards, full of news and she shared the same with Marion. Mom’s final two Christmas’, she was unable to write and so asked me to ‘take a memo’ and draft up letters for her nursing friends, especially Marion, Norma and Janet. Even after Mom passed, I could not let the tradition die and faithfully wrote to Marion to give her the ‘family news’.
Our memories of Marion are more recent as she made her way to Orillia once in 2016 to attend the Celebration of Life we had for Mom and then again in 2018 to attend the funeral of our dad, Bill. She knew Dad almost as long as she knew Mom as Dad started dating Mom while she was in training. We were so moved by Marion’s attendance at both ceremonies and touched by her great stories of the years of friendship they all shared.
Thank you so much for streaming the funeral service this morning. It was a loving tribute to a truly remarkable lady. The eulogies by Stephen, Kate, Rebecca and Victoria were beautiful and allowed us all to bear witness to the amazing woman that she was. My sister, SJ, my brother, Scott, and myself are all sorry we could not be with the family today but would like to send our love, thoughts and prayers to a family whose matriarch will truly be missed by so many.

One of my favourite memories is of sitting at the ballet as Marion (90 at the time),rushed in, having given up on the erratic TTC , and deciding to return home, get in her car, and drive as fast as possible to make the performance in time. She did!

I was lucky enough to know Marion in three different areas: at aquafit, at bridge, and as "head" of the linen section at the Attic Sale. There are so may adjectives I would use to describe Marion: sensible, low-key, organized, fun to work with, and a wise woman. I will miss her.

The heart that your mother had for others is a rare gift to the many people who had the privilege to know her. I admire the life that your mom lived, and I can only hope that we can have as strong of a finish to our lives as she did. I feel so fortunate to have known her and extend my deepest sympathy to the entire Oliver family. Find strength in the years of memories you created together.

She was very kind, and a GREAT friend to my aunt Jerry Gerow. What a dreadful year this has been!! But any time to lose her would have been hard. Hope the rest of the family is in the BEST of health!!

Marion was a best friend to Jerry Gerow who predeceased her by only a few years. The two retired nurses attended performances of the National Ballet and the Toronto Blue Jays together, with Marion as driver. They shared many interests and confidences. Jerry enjoyed watching the Oliver family grow, especially the arrival of grandchildren. It gives me pleasure to think of them together in heaven!

My Mom, Annalee Beck (nee Voaden), was a classmate of Marion's at TGH and a treasured visitor to my parent's home until they passed. The wonderful memories I have of your Mom include many when I was a young girl and also having her present when I married my husband in 1999. Gratefully, when my Mom became ill with dementia in 2013, Marion visited her in LTC in Ottawa when she'd be down visiting family, and even after Mom passed away, Marion and I would often talk on the phone and she would share with me many stories of the escapades of the roommates/nursing students of the class of '51. Oh... to be a fly on their wall!!! These amazing ladies continued their life-long friendships with many class reunions and were such profound examples to their children, grandchildren and all whom they came in contact with. Lives very well spent. Give Mom a hug for me Marion! Love you!
