Marjorie SCORGIE Obituary

Marjorie "Midge" passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Toronto, in her 100th year of life. Even though her body declined, Marjorie's wit and amazing memory remained with her to her very last days. Deeply loved wife of 66 years of the late Allister (2015). Dearly loved mom to Daniel (Valerie), Kathryn Henry (Jim) and Allister (Leslie). Beloved grandma to Lindsay Scorgie (partner, Steve Didham), James Scorgie (Katie), Jeffrey Scorgie (Natalie), Jamie Henry (partner, Paula Acosta), Allister Scorgie (Ciara), Jordan Scorgie (Lindsay Kein), and Liam Scorgie. Great-grandma to Jake, Octavia, Ajax and Heath. Marjorie was born in Kincardine, Ontario, and raised in London, Ontario, where she attended the University of Western Ontario. At Western, she met her future husband, who was captain of Western's championship basketball team 1946-1947 and 1947-1948. They were married June 11, 1949, and lived and raised their three children in Etobicoke, Ontario. They enjoyed a long life together of travel, opera, skiing at Mt. St. Louis Moonstone, golfing at Chinguacousy G.C. and Blue Springs G.C. Marjorie was a diehard Raptors, Blue Jays and Leafs fan. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Delmanor Prince Edward for their excellent care of Marjorie over the past nine years, especially nurse Genalyn on the second floor. They would also like to thank her two PSWs, Stephanie Jones and Tenzin Pema, for their exemplary care and dedication to Marjorie over the past two years. A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First Street, Orangeville, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. For those who wish, donations to either The Terry Fox Foundation, Doctors Without Borders or a Charity of Your Choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
