Mark Andrew Mahoney, B.B.A, L.L.B, GP L.L.M (1981 - 2026) It is with great sadness that the family of Mark Andrew Mahoney announce his peaceful passing at home in Toronto on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mark is survived by his beloved partner, Robert Walters; his parents Dr. James and Mary Anne Mahoney; his siblings Michael (Joyce), Dr. Mary-Helen (Steve) and Matthew (Meg); his nieces and nephews Maggie, Maddie, Michael, Luke, Abby, Leila, Mia, Leo, Luke, Noah and Nate, as well as extended family. Mark grew up in Toronto, attending OLPH and Crescent Schools. He was known for his intelligence, humour, and kindness. Mark received his B.B.A (Co-op) at Wilfred Laurier and his L.LB. at Western Law School. Mark joined the law firm Fraser Milner Casgrain (now Dentons Canada LLP) where he became a respected Partner in the Business Law Group. Always striving to expand his knowledge and skills, Mark obtained his Global Practitioner's L.L.M at U of T in the inaugural class of 2012. Mark believed that legal education and practice should be used to strengthen one's community. He mentored students and lawyers because he believed in the importance of leadership and helping others be innovative and grow. Among his many contributions in the not-for-profit sector, Mark was the Chair of the YPC for the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR). Mark lived a rich and full life in pursuit of a wide range of passions. He was a voracious reader, talented musician and endlessly curious world traveler. Above all, Mark cherished his time at the family cottage on Lake Simcoe. The lively and unhurried moments walking his dog Riley, fishing, and enjoying evenings and campfires by the water made it Mark's "special place". Sharing his passions and love of the outdoors, especially with all his nieces and nephews of whom he was so immensely proud, created memories that will be cherished forever. Most importantly, Mark was a devoted partner to Robbie, and beloved son, brother and Uncle. He could always be counted on for a birthday, baptism, graduation, and to share in every meaningful moment in between. Mark will be deeply missed. Friends will be received at Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel Ltd., 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville) on Saturday, March 28th from 4:00-8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, 30 Clifton Road at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 30th.
