Marta VIGNEUX Obituary

MARTA MICHAEL VIGNEUX (nee MacLachlan) June 16, 1937 - November 23, 2021 Suddenly and without pain, our Mom passed away at the age of 84. Born in Toronto to Dougald Joseph and Mary Marguerite MacLachlan. Predeceased by our Dad Arthur (Art), her devoted husband of 60 years and her brother Warren. Marta is survived by her sister and lifelong friend Pamela whom she adored. Marta graduated from the St. Michael's Hospital School of Nursing in 1958 and obtained a post graduate certificate in Operating Room Technique and Management in 1959. Marta enjoyed playing golf (Toronto Ladies; Club President 1977). She was a passionate bridge player achieving Diamond Life Master status with the American Contract Bridge League and ranked 298 on the Canadian Top Master Point Holders. Marta was also a member of the Granite Club since the early 60's. Marta, described as a 'wonderful, kind and lovely person' was a friend to many. Affectionately known as Aunt Marta to both family and the children of close friends. She is the 'best Mom ever' and will be profoundly missed. Marta is survived by her three children Alan (Mary-Joan), Michael (Rayelle), Darren (Misoog); her seven grandchildren Peter (Dakota), Cory, Adam, Ryan (Hailee), Jonathan, Binwoo, Nathan; and two great-grandchildren Louis and Aria. A private family interment was held at Holy Cross Monday, November 29. A celebration of life for both our parents to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Alan, Michael,Darren and family, I have known Marta since 1955 when we both entered St. Michael´s hospital´s nursing program. We have been good friends ever since and just recently enjoyed her patio pandemic lunches. She was a beautiful lady and always has a smile, she will be missed by many. My prayers are with you all. Michael, Alan and Darren: Your Mom and Dad are missed in our wonderful circle of friends. Both your parents when they walked into a room made it a happier place and especially in my heart. More people in heaven. Love to the entire Vigneux family Denise
