MARY CLARE RAMSAY BATTLE (nee FORGAN) 'Meme' April 14, 1934 - February 12, 2024 Mary Clare 'Meme' Battle, beloved wife of the late Edward Battle, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024, at the age of 89 years. Meme was born in Toronto, ON, on April 14, 1934. Meme's name came to her honestly at a very young age. While living in Toronto as a young girl, she formed very deep friendships that followed her through her lifetime. Meme's spirituality was very important to her as she followed the teachings of her Oma. These teachings provided her life with comfort and purpose. She loved to travel, with her favourite destinations being India and her most recent safari trip with Mark. Meme was never one to shy away from a good time, she enjoyed a good game of bridge and a good gin martini (tall glass, lots of ice, and just gin). She was a fashionista with great style and flair. Everyone who knew Meme and appreciated her knows there will be no replacement. She was loved and adored by her son, Mark Mazur (Alison); son, Edward Gene Battle Jr.; and by daughters, Lani (Grant) Utas and Leslie Wilkie. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Marisa, Mason, Max Eric, Sam, Jennifer, Duke, Whitney, Teddy III, Harrison, Alexis, and many great-grandchildren she cherished. 'Bye, bye mom, Love Mark'. Meme was predeceased by her loving husband of 44 years, Eddie, who passed in 2015. She missed Eddie dearly and was so looking forward to seeing him again. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Greg Wilkie.
