HOGG, Mary Eileen ;Bunty; CM (nee Muff)
Born in Yorkshire England, Bunty came to Canada with her family at age 13. In her years here, she lived in Montreal, Carleton Place, Toronto, and Seaforth. She died at the Seaforth Community Hospital on March 5, 2002 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Frank Hogg. Predeceased by her brother John Muff and survived by her sister and brother-in-law Janet and George Steinden of Belleville and by her sister-in-law Isabel Muff of Deep River. Bunty was a devoted and proud aunt and her loss with be felt by her nieces and nephews. After serving as a WREN in WWII, she undertook education in crafts and design. By training, she was a weaver, a consultant and coordinator for the Ontario Government in the area of crafts. Bunty won provincial, national and international recognition for her outstanding contribution to crafts. Her leadership, skill and enthusiasm were widely acknowledged, as evidenced by membership in the Order of Canada and the many awards and honours bestowed on her. She served her community as well and remained a member of the Zonta Club of Toronto until her move to Seaforth in 1996. A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, March 23, 2002 at 2 o'clock. (Visitation to commence at 1 o'clock) at the Box & Smith Funeral Chapel, 47 High St., Seaforth (519-527-1142). If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Ontario Crafts Council (Awards Program), 170 Bedford Rd., Suite 300, Toronto, Ontario M5R 2K9.
