McLEAN, Mary Constance (née Hunt)
At 100 years of age, beloved wife for almost 54 years of the late James Montalieu McLean, barrister, (1989). Daughter of the late John J. Hunt, K.C. and Mary Anne O'Brien. Beloved sister of the late Kathleen Clare Hunt Nolan. Loved mother of 5 children: Donald Gordon McLean Q.C. (Anne), Mary Barbara Cosgriffe (John), James Wallace Hugh McLean (Stephanie), Robert Bruce McLean (Darlene), and Ian Charles McLean and friend Calvin. Loved Grandmother (Nannie) of 12 grandchildren: Christopher John Cosgriffe (Kelly), Kathleen Louise Gundy (Paul), James McLean Cosgriffe (Jennifer), and Mary Siobhan Cosgriffe; Sondra Elise Taran (Stephen); Stacey Mara Ublansky (Brian), and David Mark McLean (Carmen); Margaret Ellen McLean, Heather Elizabeth McLean, Sara Julie Hay (Obie Hussein), Shelagh Anne McLean, and Brian Robert McLean. Predeceased by an infant grandson Andrew Douglas McLean. Great Grandmother of 14 great grandchildren who gave her much pleasure: Alexander Jesik,; Maeve and Moira Cosgriffe; Owain Gundy, Katie and Samantha Cosgriffe; Tia Katz McLean; Harrison, Michael, Annie and Frankie Taran; Ari, Dani and Jordan Ublansky. She is also survived by her nephews John and Dermot Nolan with whom she practiced law for the last twenty years of her career, her niece Mary K. Nolan, and their families, by her cousin and surrogate sister Peggy Whyte (Jack) and by Monsignor William O'Brien. She is predeceased by her cousins Elizabeth Jackson, and her husband Reg Jackson and Fred O'Brien, and by her brother in law Paddy Nolan. On her husband's side, she is survived by Montalieu's cousins Diana Stott, Diana Schell and Katie Young, as well as by Amy Grace Crosbie and Victor Nesbitt. Mrs. McLean was raised in Hamilton. She was an Honours Graduate of McGill University and Osgoode Hall Law School. She was called to the Bar on June 21, 1934. A private family Funeral Mass has been offered followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. Arrangements entrusted to P.X. Dermody Funeral Homes, Hamilton. 905-572-7900.
