MARY PARTRIDGE Obituary

(August 11, 1952 - January 13, 2026) Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, she had a spirit, intellect, and joie de vivre that took her on adventures around the world, always returning to her beloved home on Toronto Island. Longtime and loving partner of the late Wayne Lilley; stepmother to Shawn and Jay (Erica); cherished sister of Martin (Carolyn), Katharine, and Vivian (David); sister-in-law to Bunne and Jerry; aunt to Freya (Sean), Kristie (Simon), Erin (Zach), Jacob, James, Andrew (Anna), and Graham (Hailey); grandma to Liv and Grace; honorary sister to Leslie; recent companion of Dave; and admirer of fellow proud Canadians, QCYC members, shared book club readers, excitable Blue Jays fans, reliable bridge partners, avid gardeners, joyful sailors, competent spreadsheet users, lifelong Beatles maniacs, competitive tennis players, quiet sleepers, dedicated volunteers, savvy political writers, unabashed singers, hopeful Maple Leafs diehards, confident joke-tellers, enthusiastic cocktail-party goers, wayfinders and wayfarers, and the Peckerheads, a decades-long group of her dearest friends; she will be missed more than these words can convey. Gratitude for memorial contributions made to Transforming Cleft, an organization in which Mary was actively involved.

Mary and I met through the long friendship of our partners Wayne and Doug. Though we didn´t see each other often it always felt like the last time we spoke was just yesterday. Mary had a great sense of humour and a joie de vivre that rubbed off if you were lucky to be in her company.
I just heard of her death and my heart breaks for her family. She will be truly missed.
Sincere condolences,
Jeannette Jamieson

Mary and I first worked together at TD in 2008. And I reached out to her again in 2014 to join me on an RBC real estate project. Mary was a joy to work with and in addition to being brilliant and professional she had a great sense of humor. I have nothing but warm memories of Mary biking to work and sharing our thoughts about the current tennis tournament or her win over Wayne on the island court.
My sincere condolences to her family and friends for your loss of a beautiful lady.

Our sincerest condolences to Mary´s family. My husband and I only recently joined QCYC but enjoyed chats with Mary at the various social events. She was such a likeable person.
