Mary SKINNER Obituary

SKINNER, Mary M., B.A., B.L.S.
On Tuesday, July 16, 2002, elder daughter of the late Reverend A. Ross Skinner and Isabelle Macgregor Skinner, loved sister of Muriel I. Park and Ross M. Skinner (Helen); loving aunt of Robert Park (Veronica), Catherine Park, Rosemary Park (David Hall), Diana Adams (Steve), Anne Skinner (Bruce McKinnon), Jane Skinner (Mark Lord), nine great-nephews and nieces. Mary made an enduring career choice at the early age of ten years when she first encountered the delights of the Wychwood Public Library. Her first position with the Toronto public library system was interrupted by wartime service with the Women's Division of the RCAF, with two years overseas at the sixth Canadian Bomber Group in Yorkshire. Shortly after her return she became a specialist librarian, first with Imperial Oil and then for 32 years as Chief Librarian for the Meteorlogical Service Headquarters in Toronto. Mary will be remembered by a host of friends from Oakwood C.I., the RCAF W.D., Calvin Presbyterian Church, the Women's University Club at Toronto and her discussion group of which she was a member for over fifty years. Funeral Service details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvin Presbyterian Church, 26 Delisle Avenue, Toronto M4V 1S5.
