So sad to hear of Matthew's passing. He was always such a cheerful visitor at the South Grey Museum, where we spent many hours talking about history, nature and his love for his family and the farm. Such a wise and kind man. Many hugs to Dai and blessings tu his family who carry his sparkle in their smiles.

Matt was always on hand to provide support and encouragement in my career in the mineral industry, both in Vancouver initially and Later in Toronto - Though in later years we had little business contact, he always remembered the times we worked together. Congrats to Matt for a life well lived and my condolences to his family and friends

I met Matthew in 1995 at a Parks Board meeting in Toronto. We had both been appointed to the board and became friends quickly. As it turned out, he had a cabin in Atikokan, ON on Steep Rock Lake, which is where I lived. He would drive to Atikokan most summers with various family members and have dinner with us at our home. We enjoyed many interesting discussions with Matthew and considered him not only a longtime friend, but a part of our family - Matthew was special and our lives were enriched by having known him. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Our deepest condolences to his wonderful family. Love, Sandy and Bud Dickson
