MICHAEL UPTON Obituary
A beautiful soul died on October 20, 2025, after being struck by a car while in a crosswalk. He leaves behind his wife, Lorraine; his brother, Glenn; nephew, Sean; niece, Megan; and many friends, hockey and golf teammates across the globe. Predeceased by his parents, Wes and Shirley; and his older brother, Rod. Mike was born on September 1, 1956, in Toronto. Mike was a gentle man, except on the ice. His brand of hockey was old school but he was a life-long fan of Bobby Orr - he even had a Bobby Orr bunkie at the cottage filled with artwork, newspaper clippings, and anything else Orr related. But Mike was also an educated man, he was a chemical engineer and worked for Ontario Hydro and for Bruce Power for his entire career. He was married to Lorraine for 40 years and dated her for over 10 years prior. He met Lorraine while attending Ajax High School, then he attended the University of Toronto. He and Lorraine travelled extensively - they visited every continent, including Antartica. Mike was involved with his church and volunteered for many years in its "Out of the Cold" programme. His funeral will take place on November 4, 2025, at 11 a.m., at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 75 Simcoe Street, Toronto.
