Peacefully, at home in Montreal, on Monday, April 25, 2016, in his ninety-sixth year. Beloved husband of Renata Witelson, and her treasured partner for more than seventy-three years. Spectacular father and father-in-law of Norbert Hornstein and Amy Weinberg, Sari Hornstein. Remarkable grandpa to Genna Hornstein, Eric and Maura Connell Lightfoot, Alex Lightfoot, Kirsten Mould and Heidi Lightfoot. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Hanka and the late Romek Hornstein, the late Jacob and the late Stella Hornstein; and brother-in-law of Sandra and the late Henry Witelson. Dear uncle of Sam Hornstein and Merle Wertheimer, Ruth Hornstein, Mark Hornstein and Lysa Lash, Tamar Witelson and the late Eddie Taylor; and great-uncle of Aiden Chaim Witelson. Special thanks to Carmen, Angie, Dina, Margie and Wesley who helped run an exceptional household for this exceptional couple. Michal left an indelible mark. Those who knew him will never forget him.
