I knew Mildred in 1954. A brief and lovely time. Perhaps too brief.

I am so sorry to read about the loss of Mili Gervasi.
My condolences to her family.
I have fond memories of my short time knowing Mili in London.
I was recently remeniscing to my cousins about the time I au paired for her family in Abbey Road when her son Sasha was Bar Mitzved in the early 80"s.
Each day I cooked different meals for them and their guests and I was curious after all this time to know how the food really was, as I joke I cooked gourmet meals from scratch and spent the whole day in the kitchen preparing them. Each day I was presented with a raw chicken or lamb or something else. Well as I had never cooked meat as such,
as I was vegetarian at the time, and hated touching raw meat, I would ask Mili to place the meat in the pyrex dish.
Then I would call up either my aunt or cousin for "help" and a recipe with the correct herbs and flavours for each dish.
Voila, I cooked and everyone seemed to enjoy the food.
Last weekend I was telling my younger cousin, that I cooked these
"gourmet" meals and had never cooked lamb before and never did again.
He laughed!
Sometiimes people touch our lives for a short time, but the memories are always imprinted in our minds.
