Millicent Eveline (Dunbar)
MacCormack passed away
peacefully at Camp Hill Memorial
Veteran's Hospital in Halifax,
Nova Scotia, on March 1, 2015,
in her 98th year.
   Cherished mother of Norma
MacCormack of Toronto and
Peggy MacCormack (Brian
Taylor) of Halifax. Beloved
grandmother of Peter Kaftarian
(Danielle) and Michael
MacCormack ; and great-
grandmother of Kyle and Colin
Kaftarian,all of Toronto and
sister of Mary Ashe of Kelowna,
BC.
   Predeceased in 2007, by her
husband of 60 years, Dr. H.P
MacCormack, whom she had
met when stationed at RCN
Stadacona during WWII.
   She had earned an RN from
Freemason's Hospital in Mordon,
Manitoba and being adventurous
nursed at the Mayo Clinic in
Rochester, Minnesota and then
worked as a stewardess for the
fledgeling Canadian Pacific Air
Lines on it's Whitehorse/ Anchorage route. The legendary
newspaper woman, Ma Murray,
called her 'the glamorous Miss
Dunbar' in her photo caption.
   She continued to work as a
nurse and was active in the
church, IODE, Hospital Auxilliary
and the Truro Historical Museum
and was a charter member of
the Truro Ladies' Curling Club;
only giving up when both wrists
had been broken.
   Arrangements by Mattatall-
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young
St., Truro, NS. Visitation is on
Tuesday, March 10, from 6-8 pm,
with a Legion tribute service at 7
pm.
   The funeral service will be at St
John's Anglican Church on
March 11 at 10 am.
   Reception to follow.
