MURRAY IVAN COULTER London, Ontario - Murray, 77, died peacefully Friday, December 29, 2017 at London Health Science Centre. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Wannita 'Sam' (nee Chalk) Coulter; his cherished children, Cheryl van der Kroon and her partner, Ken Leach and children, Jordan and Karissa; Catherine Wood and her partner, Matt Hardiman and children, Jessica and Dylan; Michael Coulter and his wife, Lynda and children, Andrew, Justin, Devon and wife, Erin with great-grandchild, Roselyn; Melanie Blair and husband, Robert and children, Tannock and Charlotte; John David Coulter and his partner, Jennifer Robart and children, Zoe, Holly and Ethan; Joe MacLean and his partner Darby Butler. He will be dearly missed by his brother Harold 'Tex' Coulter; sister-in-law Kathleen Coulter; and many extended family, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Rose Jaques; brother, Gordon Coulter; and sister-in-law, Joan Coulter.
Murray was born and raised in London, the son of Sidney and Dorothy (nee Dunlop) Coulter. In his early years, Murray joined the RCMP and remained an officer until 1965. After serving with the RCMP, he had the opportunity to join the financial industry and worked with Investors Group. He moved across Canada as he rose through the ranks with Investors, living in Barrie, ON, Saint John, NB, Winnipeg, MB, and Toronto, ON. In 1985, he started his own company Tillcan Financial and later TW Austin. He took pride in his businesses, and made lifelong friends during his career. Other than his business, Murray's greatest passions were fishing and hunting and was a member of New Brunswick's fishing clubs Beaver Lake, Hudson Brook Salmon Club and Adam's Pond. He loved to be outdoors in New Brunswick with his dog and dearest friends. Murray finally settled back in London to be near his sister, brother and sister in-law and many friends.
Our heartfelt thanks everyone at Coulter Pharmacy, to the wonderful nurses and doctors in the Dialysis Unit at University Hospital over the last few years, all of the PSW's that have been such a big help coming into our home and the dedicated PSW's, nurses and doctors on the fourth floor at University Hospital in London.
Cremation has taken place. A visitation was held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. In addition visitation will be held 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1997 Dundas St. East (at Wavell) London, Ontario.
