CASSELS, Nancy Ellen Reed
It is with the utmost sadness that we share the news that Nancy Ellen Reed Cassels, born in Glen Rock, NJ on June 16, 1951, passed away on June 10, 2012 at the too-young age of 60. She was both a loving and caring person and an unbelievably strong person, qualities that led so many to love her. Nancy was a wonderful mother to daughter Tracy Cassels (married to Brian Sword), son John Cassels, and daughter Brett Cassels (all with Michael Cassels). She was also a doting grandmother to Madeleine Cassels-Sword and a loving daughter to her mother Barbara Reed of Monroe Township, NJ. Nancy was passionate about many things, notable amongst them were her immense work for the home birth movement in Ontario in the 1980s and her many years as a class officer for Princeton University, a role she cherished as it allowed her to work with people she loved. Nancy is predeceased by her brother Ken and her father George. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her, including her two cats, Sam and Ruggy. Cremation and a private reception have taken place. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
