NANCY CUMMINGS

Nancy Grace Cummings (nee Carruthers), passed away peacefully, at the age of 91, surrounded by her family on October 8, 2025, at Amica Bayview Gardens. Predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Leonard Cummings; her brother, Bruce; and brother, Robert (Beverly). Beloved mother of Deborah Thompson (Lorimer), Ian (Denise Bellamy), Elizabeth (Gary McLean), Joan (JoAnn Degaust), and Susan Demers (Timothy); and Canadian mother to Alejandro Lelo de Larrea (Claudia). Loving grandmother to Scott, David, Jessica, Amy, Mathilda, Laura, Bonnie, Dana, Adrien, Sarah, Tom, Jamie, Kelly, Alejandro Jr., Christian, Natalia, and their spouses/partners; and proud great-grandmother to Bruce, Romy, Viliame, Georgia, Freddie, Leo, James, Arthur, Nora, Eliza, Nico, Pia, Anni and Sofi. Nancy will be greatly missed by her sister, Cathey (Reggaro) Battaglia; sister-in-law, Carolyn Carruthers; and her many nieces and nephews. The family will be forever grateful to all the caring and dedicated staff of Amica Bayview Gardens, where Nancy lived for seven years, with special appreciation to Gloria and Ann, Govind, Jami and Joyce, among so many others, and also to the Palliative Care Team for their compassionate care. Nancy will be remembered for her generosity and thoughtfulness, for the fun times she created and for the love and support she provided to her large family and wide circle of friends. In the words of her one of her granddaughters, "Nana brought so much joy to our lives. She was so good at making us feel special and loved. It's the way I will always remember her." A service will be held on Tuesday, October 28th, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time at Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave. West, Toronto, Ontario M4R 1A8, with reception to follow.
