I have poignant and precious memories of my long friendship with Nancy, cemented through our years as campers and then leaders at Camp Mini-Yo-We. A friend fondly recalled how Nancy and I "were always up to some mischief." I have to say our mischief sometimes spilled over to our lives back home as we were coming of age--like the time we experimented with smoking! In her mother's nice living room ! (Of course we were found out.) On a serious note, I remember how Nancy, herself an accomplished swimmer, took a novice level swimming class along with me to encourage me. Not only was this a sacrifice of time, but she reacted badly to the chlorine. As time went on, love came calling, We were Maids of Honour in each other's weddings, then shared the joy of giving birth. I named my second daughter Nancy. Over the years life took us in different directions. but we stayed in touch until she was stricken with dementia. In the past few years Nancy has come to mind time and again, and I've hoped that my prayers have somehow touched her in some way known only to God. Although dementia stole Nancy's memory, she will live on in my memory as a woman of irrepressable mirth, uncommon intellect and great compassion.
She raised me to more than I could be.

Sincere condolences to Paul and the entire Devillers and Knight families. Nancy was a force -as a partner, mother, grandmother, educator and friend. The Penetanguishene and Simcoe North communities were enriched by her life and work.
Sharon and Bob hold all of you in our thoughts at this difficult time.
