NANCY JANE SHAW, R.N.December 21, 1926 - December 30, 2020 It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Nancy Jane Shaw on December 30, 2020, having recently celebrated her 94th birthday. Beloved sister of John Northey (Sheila d.) Shaw, aunt of Barbara and John P. (Susan) Shaw, Margo (Robert) Young, Nancy E. (Neil) Luders, and David (Kelly) Shaw. Great-aunt to Caitlin, Heather and Jacob Young, William and Bronwyn Luders, Carolyne, Samantha and John R. Shaw and Jack Howes. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Frederick McLean Shaw, Ida Caroline Northey Shaw, and her brother, Gerald McLean (Carol d.) Shaw. Born and raised in Toronto, Nancy attended John Ross Robertson Public School and Havergal College. Nancy was a 1948 graduate of the School of Nursing at the Hospital for Sick Children where she enjoyed a long successful career. Retiring from nursing in 1981, Nancy volunteered at Centennial Nursery School, a special needs facility. Nancy was a much beloved sister, friend, cousin and aunt, known for her many accomplishments, hobbies, her unique sense of humour, her gentle kindness, and her generosity. Nancy loved dogs, travel, golf and bridge. She could be found gardening, skiing, sailing, horseback riding, quilting and most of all, enjoying these pursuits with her loyal friends and family members. She was known for her tiny perfect house and garden, her numerous little bags and knick knacks. Her favourite place was at the family cottage on Lake Muskoka. Nancy was an accomplished bridge player, a "Cherrywood old girl", a member of the Toronto Ladies Golf Club, 21 McGill, and Eglinton St. George's United Church. Many thanks to Lourdes Cardeno and the excellent caregivers at Briton House, and Easy Access Health Care. A memorial service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to Sick Kids Hospital (
