CAMPBELL, Neil
In his seventieth year, at Toronto, on December 13, 2013. Only child of the late Captain Neil Campbell and Sylvia Nind. Born in 1944 in Barrie, graduate of Trinity College School, Queen's University and the University of Toronto. Investment dealer, educational researcher, camp director, teacher, coach, archivist and author. Taught and coached at Bishop's College School in Lennoxville, Quebec and for 39 years at Crescent School in Toronto as Head of three departments, archivist and school historian. Manager, North Hatley Club and for 30 years associated with Camp Hurontario in a variety of positions. He loved his family, a variety of sports, travel, the Georgian Bay and the out of doors in general, but had little time for arrogance, hypocrisy or a sense of entitlement. With many interests, he had a broad knowledge of a wide range of subjects. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 41 years, Carol (nee Brown), his children Claire (Anthony), and Neil Alexander (Jennifer), and his grandchildren Graham and Caleigh, and Campbell Jesse. The family would like to thank the doctors from the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care, as well as the Community Care Access Centre, for their help and support. A special thank you to Rev. Anne Crosthwait of St. John's York Mills Anglican Church. A service will be held in the church of St. John's York Mills, 19 Don Ridge Drive, Toronto, on Friday, December 20, 2 p.m. Visitation will commence at the church two hours prior to the service. Interment at a later date in Port Hope Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Neil's memory may be made to the Georgian Bay Land Trust # 609-920 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON, M4W 3C7.
