NEIL POCH Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Neil Matthew Poch on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the age of 72. A devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, Neil leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 30 years, Heidi Shulman Poch; their daughter, Sarah Poch and her partner, Daniel Harrington, all of Toronto; and siblings Michael Poch and Isobel Wattine of France, Vivian and George Chudy of Israel, and Rachel Poch of France; as well as many nieces and nephews. Born in Montreal on January 5, 1954, Neil was the son of Jewel (z'l) and Lewis Poch (z'l). Neil's sometimes gruff exterior concealed a generous heart and a loving spirit. A consummate professional, whether in business, volunteer activities, or simply in life, he shared his experience and wisdom freely with all who crossed his path. His legacy lives on in the generations of young people he mentored as a Jewish youth worker, and as a business owner and entrepreneur. At Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West (three lights west of Dufferin), for service on Friday, March 6th, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Pardes Chaim Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Magen David Adom (www.cmdai.org, 416-780-0034), North York Womens Shelter (nyws.ca/), North York Harvest Food Bank (northyorkharvest.com), or to a Charity of Your Choice. May Neil's memory always be for a blessing.

It is true Neil could be gruff on the outside but he was a total softy, full of care and concern for those he cared for. He was a great friend to my father, a wonderful nelfty advisor, and devoted to his wife and daughter.

We are here at Mission Salon and Capistrano are terribly saddened to hear of the sweet man´s passing. He was a wonderful person to work with, flexible, collaborative, willing to take on new projects and dream big with Mission selling Capistrano. It was a joy and a privilege to work with him on all of our projects and the wonderful team that he put together. He will be missed and always remembered fondly. He was profoundly, intelligent, kind, and intuitive. He was a very personable, charming individual who brought his light to every setting he encountered. My condolences to his family and his work family as well. We will be praying for peace of mind for all, and we will enjoy the projects that we created in his memory.
