Nellie Till passed away very peacefully, in her home on November 2, 2024, with her children, Lesley and Paul, at her side. Nellie was born in London, England, in 1925, the seventh of twelve children of John and Elizabeth Dumbelton. Leaving school at 14, Nellie worked as a tailor making suits for Saville Row. In the blackout in wartime London, she ran into Alfred Till who she knew from school. Alf was called up to the Royal Air Force in 1943. Nellie and Alfred were married in November of 1945. They immigrated to Canada in 1957 with their two young children, Lesley and Paul. Nellie was much loved and will be missed by Lesley (Michael Landry) and Paul (Claudia Julian). She was the very special Nanny to her three grandchildren, Kaitlin Till-Landry, Megan Till-Landry (James Aikenhead ) and Alice Till (Armand Bouillet). She leaves relatives in England and Australia. Alf passed away in 2022, and Nellie's health was declining. She was able to stay in her home because of the loving care of Elizabeth Cyr, and a team of dedicated PSWs, including Charmaine, Via, Abby, Ann, Chris, and Faith. We are also very thankful to the Edwin Leong Geriatric outreach program. In her last years, Nellie would often say "I'm a lucky duck." For online condolences, please visit
