(May 18, 1963 – September 30, 2025) Nigel Wright passed away suddenly from heart failure at his home in London, England, on September 30, 2025, at the age of 62. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his mother, Maureen; his sister, Lesley Wright and her husband, Bob Morgan; his sister, Karen Wright Darling and her husband, Bob Darling; his nephews, Cory Wright, Brett Darling, and Justin Darling and his wife Brook; his dear cousins; and by countless friends, colleagues, and former associates in Canada and abroad who were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and quiet generosity. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, and raised in Burlington, Nigel was the beloved son of Maureen Wright (née Peers) and the late Graham Wright. A gifted student, he graduated from the University of Toronto's Trinity College and earned his law degree from the University of Toronto before completing a Master of Laws at Harvard University. Nigel built a distinguished career in law, business, and public service. He was a partner at Davies, Ward, Phillips & Vineberg, a senior managing director at Onex Corporation, and served as Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Known for his intellect, discipline, and integrity, Nigel was admired not only for his accomplishments but also for his humility and unwavering sense of purpose. Guided by deep Christian faith, Nigel was an active member of the Anglican Church and gave generously of his time and resources to others. He volunteered in shelters, supported charitable causes, and quietly lived out his belief in service and compassion. A visitation will take place at Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, on Friday, October 24th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas's Anglican Church, long cherished by Nigel for its community and faith. A donation page and a beautiful memorial can be found at
