POPE, Nora (nee King)
Was born in Montreal on June 30th, 1911. In her early twenties, Nora met her future husband Chris Pope at a regatta in Ste. Rose, QC. Nora and Chris lived in Lachine where they raised three children, Audrey (Gil Bennett), Gordon and Barbara (Phill Brown). Nora worked for a variety of companies in Montreal, but realized her greatest enjoyment through her volunteer work. In the summers, Nora and Chris would move to their cottage on Bark Lake to vacation with the children and grandchildren. Nora will always be remembered as a creative and energetic woman with a special place in her heart for her pet cats. Nora Pope passed away on August 3rd, 2003 while on holiday at her summer cottage. She was predeceased by her husband Chris Pope on November 4th, 2002. In Nora's memory, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. According to her wishes, her remains have gone to research at McGill University.
