Olive ROSS Obituary
ROSS, Olive
1928 - 2016 Olive (Olly) Ross died on 19 December in Toronto. She was 88. The cause was complications of cancer. Her husband Walter died in 2014. Olive was predeceased by her sister Iris Bell. She is survived by her children, Paul and wife Emma and Barbara and husband Duncan, as well as three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, nephew Glynn Bell and wife Dawn, and sister Freda Sanderson.
Mrs. Ross was born on October 8, 1928, in Port Thomas, England, daughter of Jack and Olive Thompson. A beautiful bride, she married Walter in Billingham and they honeymooned in Scarborough on England's North Sea coast in 1953. They emigrated to Montreal in 1956. She devoted much of her early adult life to bringing up her children. Warm, generous, brave and strong, she took great joy in later years in the arrival of grandchildren. She was a tremendous support and always provided her family with unconditional love. She was energised by travel most recently with her friends to Paris in September 2016. She had a good sense of humour and wanted everyone to have a good laugh and enjoy life. She will be greatly missed. As per Olive's wishes, there will be no service. Donations in memory of Olive Ross can be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
