Osamu (Sam) Oishi, P. Eng.
1934-2014

In his 80th year, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Mako and father of Kazuo and his wife Maria, brother of Mas and uncle of Ellis and Grant. He was born in Vernon, British Columbia, and grew up in Japan until the age of 18. He returned to Canada where he received a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toronto. He established his own engineering consulting company, JIT Automation Inc. Our sincere thanks to Dr. Brian Aw, Dr. Romeo Bruni, Heather Epp of CCAC, Fr. R. Foliot S.J. and the team of excellent PSWs for their compassionate and dedicated care of Sam and for making his journey comfortable and peaceful. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3055 Bloor St. W., Toronto on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at Islington Golf Club. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Jesuits of English Canada (www.jesuits.ca) or to a charity of your choice. Online condolence may be made through www.turnerporter.ca
