Pamela CLUFF

PAMELA CLUFF, FRIBA, FRAIC Pamela J. Cluff-Final, 92, died December 25, 2023 after a short illness following a series of debilitating strokes. Pamela is survived by her four children, Susan (Neil Rudolph), Nancy Mahan (Michael), Jennifer, and Jon (Tina) and three grandchildren, David Rudolph (Samantha), Sarah Rudolph (Scott Levine) and John Hachey. Pamela was born in London, England, trained as an architect and came to Toronto in 1955. She opened a firm that became Cluff & Cluff Architects in 1957 with her husband Bill, designing hospitals, schools, nursing homes, clinics and group homes. Her specialty was accessibility design, helping the City of Toronto establish wheelchair accessibility standards, the curb cut program and Wheeltrans service. She received many awards for her work, published articles and lectured across Canada, the U.S. and overseas. Throughout her life, Pamela was passionate about architecture and design, generous with her time and expertise, a champion for the elderly and disabled. She enjoyed travel, the arts, music, crosswords and was always reading. Blessed with great energy, she had great style, wit, and a wonderful smile. No one who ever met her, forgot her.
