PARVIZ SANGSARI Parviz Sangsari, born March 6, 1939, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and close friends. An outgoing businessman, Monsieur Parviz served the public for over 25 years at his fashion store in downtown Vancouver. He loved to help people to 'look good and feel good.' Spending time with his family brought Parviz immense joy. He adored his children and later grandchildren, lighting up in their presence. Parviz was born in Sari, Iran. His father, Sabzali Sangsari, worked as chef at a hospital, and his mother, Sakineh Motiee, took care of the large household of 10 children: brothers, Esmail, Ghassem, Parviz, Hossein, Hassan, Ali, and Saber; and sisters, Malihe, Ruhi, and Maryam. Parviz studied mechanical engineering at The Technical University of Berlin, while working in governmental affairs at the height of the Cold War in the early 1960s. He would hold a lifelong interest in current events, politics and languages (spoke German, Farsi and English). Parviz immigrated to Vancouver in 1970. He found his passion in fashion, working for the fine Vancouver retailers, Murray Goldman and Clinton's Menswear in the late 1970s/early 1980s, while studying English and business administration at U.B.C. Parviz and Jennifer Li married in 1982. The Sangsari family, including the two children, Lisette and Marcel, and their pet cockatiel Cecil, shared many happy times together at their West Vancouver home and on family trips abroad. Parviz loved singing, dancing, and entertaining his friends and customers. He was a great cook of Persian cuisine. With Jennifer, they hosted friends and neighbours over many dinners and their annual New Year's Eve Party - unforgettable. A humanist at heart, Parviz sought understanding and peaceful relations with all. He respected and accepted everyone no matter their differences. In recent years, Parviz struggled with a loss of himself through Alzheimer's Disease/dementia. The Sangsari family wishes to thank all of Parviz's caregivers, close friends, and colleagues for their enduring support and friendship over the years. Parviz is survived by his three children, Lisette (Allan) Ames, Marcel Sangsari, and Greg Ekland; and six grandchildren, Madeleine and Emily Ames, Jack, Tyler, Ava, and Emily Ekland. He is also survived by his brothers, Esmail and Hassan; and his sisters, Malihe and Maryam. Details on burial and a celebration of life to follow. Contact Marcel:
