ROCCA, Pasquale (Pat) Nicola

It's with great sadness that the family of Pasquale Nicola Rocca (Pat Rocca) share his sudden passing on Friday, January 27th, 2017, at the young age of 74, while vacationing with family in a place he loved Nassau, Bahamas. Pat, as he was known, left us far too soon and has left a large hole not only in the lives of his family and friends, but in the lives of the many people and communities he touched along the way with his indisputable successful development career. Pat, came from Italy in 1957 in search of a better life for his family, he created an empire and left a legacy behind in the construction world. Although he will always be well known as a visionary, and progressive person well ahead of his time, he will be best remembered for his charisma, generosity, humility and his radiant one of a kind smile. He was the best Husband, Father, Nonno, son, brother, uncle, friend, confidant, and mentor anyone could be blessed to have in their lives. He has faithfully gone to join the love of his life Joan in a better place, where they will cherish the Lord, St. Anthony and St. Francis together and be with their late parents, and all family and friends gone before him. He will be deeply missed by those he left behind; son Patrick (Elaine), daughter Cathy (Peter Anelli-Rocca), daughter Tanya (Darryl Mackereth-Rocca), grandsons Christian and Gianluca, granddaughters; Alexa, Quinlan, Vienna and Alissa; brother John (Gail) and brother Saverio (Jackie)), and many nieces and nephews. We will be receiving visitors at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 3-9 p.m. Vigil prayers for Pat at 8:30p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church, 4072 New Street, Burlington, on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Burlington. For those who wish memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
Additional memorial services will also be taking place in both Italy and New Brunswick. A service will take place in Lemezia, Italy this weekend, with a memorial service to follow in the park Pat developed in Vonio, Italy (Piazza Vonio) in July 2017. There will also be a memorial service and tribute in Saint John, New Brunswick, this coming summer on Pat's birthday August 4th, 2017. www.smithsfh.com
