Patricia CHRISTIE Obituary

Patricia Grace Christie
(née Garlick)

Pat Christie passed away
peacefully at her home, after a
short illness, in Toronto on June
4, 2014. She was a loving
mother to Hunt Jr. (Louise),
Douglas (Rhonda), Diana, and
James (Lorraine), dear sister to
Jocelyn, Grannypat to Hunter,
Reaves, Alexander, Deveron and
Emily, and favourite Aunt Pat to
Bruce (Val) and Dave (Julie). She
will be missed dearly by her
family, friend and ex-husband
Huntly Christie Sr., her many
friends, and her devoted four-
legged pal, Teddy. Avid traveller,
gardener (often with kindred
spirits Bill and Es), reader and
crossword puzzle solver, she
delighted in hosting family
gatherings and sharing time with
friends whether in the city or at
the cottage. She taught
kindergarten, raised a family,
owned her own business
(Pajama Game), volunteered
with the Schizophrenia Society
of Ontario and Touchstone and
enjoyed yoga and Tai Chi. She
also created wonderful pottery,
beaded beautiful jewellery,
sewed everything from curtains
to aprons, and quilted and
loomed family mementos. In
memory of Pat, and in lieu of
flowers, a donation to the
Schizophrenia Society of Ontario
or Greenpeace, two
organizations that were very
close to her heart, would be
greatly appreciated. A
celebration of her life will
be held on Thursday,
June 26, 2014. Email
