PATRICIA FRASER Obituary

(nee Lloyd) On February 20, 2026, in her 95th year, Patricia Ann Fraser (nee Lloyd) passed away at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. Pat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, on October 22, 1931, the beloved daughter of Warren and Helen Lloyd; and sister of Griffith (Tina) Lloyd. She attended school in Toronto and obtained her B.A. at Queen's University in 1953. In 1955 she married Ian, whom she met during their freshman year at Queen's. She pursued a brief teaching career until the birth of their first daughter, at which time she became a devoted mother, homemaker and community volunteer. While raising four daughters, Pat began volunteering at Women's College Hospital, which she continued weekly for more than 40 years. In 2012, she received provincial recognition for being one of WCH's longest-standing volunteers. She was honoured with an Ontario Service Award for going above and beyond in her 40 years of dedicated service to the hospital. Some of her other passions were curling, tennis, bellringing, and cottage life on Steenburg Lake every summer. During their retirement years, Pat and Ian travelled to many countries, and they loved to share their favourite travel location, Bermuda, with their family. Throughout her life, Pat was very involved in the life of her church, most recently Eglinton St. George's United Church, as well as delivering for Meals on Wheels. She stayed fit and active well into her late eighties, continuing to play tennis regularly. Pat was a kind and generous friend, a gracious hostess, and a loving mother and grandmother, always interested in the educational pursuits and career choices of her four daughters and nine grandchildren. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, Ian. Cherished mother of Pamela, Alison, Margot and Jill. Dear mother-in-law of Scott Valentine, Rich Withey, Richard O'Brien, the late Phil Ovenell and the late Frank Abou-Heif. Adored grandmother of Andrew (Sara) and Peter Valentine, Justine (Yassine) Khechim and Charlotte Abou-Heif, Erica, Richard (Allyson) and Thomas (Stef Evans) Withey, and Madeleine and Alexander O'Brien. Loving great-grandmother of Lucy and Samantha Valentine, Mateo, Paloma and Emilio Valentine, and Essia, Kais and Zayd Khechim. We are grateful to have had her in our lives for so long. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Toronto Humane Society (www.torontohumanesociety.com), the Ontario Society For The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (www.ontariospca.ca) or the Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated by the family. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Eglinton St. George's United Church, 35 Lytton Blvd., Toronto.

Countless lunches on Glenview Ave and Steenburg Lake. Mornings on the dock waterskiing and afternoons at the beach. The Fraser and Ankenman families have been together since we were born. It is hard to believe both Auntie Pat and Uncle Ian are no longer with us. I will always be grateful for my time in Toronto over the past few years with visits. I am sorry I won't be able to be at the celebration of life. All my love to everyone. Mary Jane
