Paul DRUCKMAN Obituary

Dr. Paul Druckman, a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and confidante, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on April 9, 1937, Paul lived a wonderful life full of adventure, friendship, humour and passion. He loved and revered his family above all else, and will be sorely missed. Paul had the rare combination of razor sharp analytical skills, fierce competitive drive, questioning intellect and all with disarming warmth and positivity. Paul's legacy is remembered by his family and friends, who will never forget his wisdom, curiosity and caring. He was predeceased by his sister, Ellen. Lovingly remembered by his wife, Sandra, who was the love of his life; as well as his children, Myles (Chris), Kimberly (Cameron), Tamara (David), and Joshua; and innumerable extended family and friends. His grandchildren, Sydney, Noah, Makensey, Hannah, Roslyn, Brady, and Zachary, remember him for his famous storytelling at seders, nature walks at cottages, skill at chess, and above all, love for his family. A service in celebration of his life will be held at Congregation Habonim (5 Glen Park Avenue, Toronto) on Friday, September 20th, from 2 - 4 p.m. This will be followed by a Shiva at 51 Burnside Drive, which will take place Saturday, September 21st and Sunday, September 22nd.

I´ll always remember him as Doctor Druckman. I always felt that Dr. Druckman had a love of new adventures. He seemed to move offices every couple years! Sometimes I´d show up at the wrong place. Not only was he a great therapist but more importantly he was a mensch. Nonjudgmental. Open minded. And always a pleasure to talk to. I remember when he went in for surgery and told me that he might not come out of it. I was amazed at his ability to face life with humour and logic. Tony Robbins must have been one of his students. I remember in the later years how hard it was for him to play tennis. And how much he missed it. He told me that he had a dream that he was unencumbered by any physical limitations and he was playing tennis as he loved to play it. The world would be a much better place if there were more Paul Druckmans in it. I believe that he would be very pleased to know that he will be remembered first as a great guy and second as a great doctor. I consider myself very fortunate to have known him and to have had so many great conversations with him as both a doctor and a person. Hopefully he´s now able to play the game he loved so much again as he did when he was young.

I also knew Dr Druckman as a caring psychiatrist and kind man, way back in the 1970s. He just crossed my mind and I decided to see if I could find him on the internet. I'm sorry to have found this obituary but happy to see what a full life and loving family he had. My condolences on his loss.
