PAUL S. FRITZ 1938 - 2024 Died at Kingston, Ontario, January 16, 2024. Youngest son of Arthur Gerald Fritz and Lura Vivian (Green) Fritz. He is survived by his partner and spouse of 57 years, David Russo; and a sister, Pauline. Predeceased by his brother, Robert; and sisters, Myria (Saunders) and Eunice (Dobbie). Paul was a graduate of Queen's (B.A. 1961), University of Wisconsin (M.A. 1961) and Cambridge University (D.Phil. 1966). He was Professor of Modern British History at McMaster University from 1966 - 1999. In retirement, he and his partner, David, developed the iconic Oak Leaf Gardens that were judged second in Canada in 2008 and were the subject of two TV programmes on PBS. Paul specialized in heritage roses, and lectured widely on these and other related topics in both eastern Ontario and northern NY State.
