Paul KING Obituary
WRITER, STORYTELLER, TRAVELER PAUL KING At an impasse in a heroic battle with cancer, Paul at 72 relented at 5:15 a.m., May 9th, 2008. Beloved by and best friend of Barbara Fulton, Paul was the proud parent with lvi of Michelle; bewitched 'Paka' of granddaughters Finnoula, Sinead and Bronach; and devoted big brother of John. To family and friends, he was a beguiling force of nature who packed 10 lifetimes into one. Everything about Paul was creative. With words, watercolours, an operatic voice and ever present wit, he lived passionately in the moment. A respected journalist (Vancouver Sun; London Daily Mail; the Japanese Mainichi Daily News; Globe and Mail; Canadian Magazine; The Toronto Star), columnist and author, he travelled the world, infusing his work with sensitivity and a probing intelligence. Honouring Paul's wish, there will be no memorial service. He wanted a party and a party he shall have. Fly Free - As Always King Paul.
