PAUL KIRK Obituary

(March 15, 1956 – November 5, 2025) The Etobicoke community is mourning the loss of Paul Kirk, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose sudden passing has left a deep void in many hearts. He is remembered for his unwavering kindness, his generous, fun-loving spirit, and the love he carried for the people and passions around him. Known for his love of music, his passion and meticulous attention to his garden, and his steady mentorship to many in financial markets, he brought warmth, guidance, and positivity to everyone who knew him. His commitment to charity and consistent goodwill reflected his belief in the importance of giving back. Born on March 15, 1956, Paul lived a life defined by purpose, compassion, and integrity. He supported causes close to his heart, including the MLSE Foundation, Haven on the Queensway, and Youth Without Shelter - organizations that reflect his dedication to community and the creation of opportunity for others. In his memory, the family welcomes donations to these charities in lieu of gifts: • https://www.havenontheq.com/ • ?https://yws.on.ca/ • ?https://www.mlsefoundation.org/donations/overview He was the devoted husband of Lisa Kirk; proud father of Anne Kirk (Michael D'Hollander) and Matthew Kirk; and loving grandfather to Emelia and Charlotte D'Hollander, who brought him immense pride and joy. He will also be deeply missed by his siblings, Earl Kirk, Gary Kirk, and Jacquie Kirk. Paul's humor, patience and warmth made him the heart of his family and cherished community. Paul's legacy will live on in the memories he created, the joy he spread, and the love he shared.

Our friendship with Lisa and Paul began in the early 90s in Darien CT, where they made an immediate and great impression as a family. A wide circle of friends quickly embraced them. Our kids knew their kids and so did we. We kept in touch with visits to Toronto, including Anne's Wedding, and Lisa and Paul joined us here in South Carolina. We still have virtually every CD Paul sent us, and Debbie has, and still burns up the phone lines to stay in touch ever since the family moved back to Canada. Paulie made every effort to attend our son Tyler's gigs whenever his bands were on tour and playing in Toronto, how wonderful was that kindness?! We will greatly miss Paul, one of the finest men we have ever known. Our hears and love are with all of the Kirk family as you celebrate together this great man and our dear friend.

Condolence's to Paul's family. Such sad news to hear. I was hired by Paul Kirk on the trading desk back in 1991 after being in Loan operations with the bank from 1986. Mr. Kirk was so nice and upbeat about everything! He always had an encouraging word and lead by example. He loved his music and I remember him being able to get the abba gold cd wayyyyyy back in the day for me. That was a hard one to find. A funny memory was when I started on the trading desk and we had a desk golf outing. I really wasn't very good at golf but took lessons. However, when we got to the golf course and it was my time to tee off, they distracted me and Paul put one of the exploding golf balls on the tee when I wasn't looking. Low and behold, I smashed the golf ball and powder went all over! it was pretty funny. I am still with the bank, and on the same desk I started when he hired me to join. Kudos to Mr. Kirk for giving me that extra vote of confidence way back in the day. Again, deepest sympathy to his family.
