PAUL FREDERICK LITTLE obituary

PAUL LITTLE Obituary

May 29, 1943 - September 28, 2024

Paul Little must have been born on a sunny day. He always saw the best in people, the best in life. It was the lens through which he viewed it all.

He thrived at U of T and UBC, went on to excel in the corporate world, relished his time in provincial political trenches, and continued to achieve life changing success with his two valued partners John Thompson and Jacob Gornitzki at GTL.

And one must not forget his deep love for his time as an oarsman, a passion that brought him tremendous joy and provided fertile ground for a wealth of great stories.

Paul holds a special place in the hearts of the many friends he made along life's journey.

To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die. -Thomas Campbell

Paul was released from a fate he did not deserve, but one he met face on, never losing his wonderful sense of humour nor his brilliant, rakish smile - a smile that could light up a room.

Paul leaves behind his wife, Marylou; his children, Katherine, Peter, Alexis and Kaitlin, together with their families.

We remain eternally grateful to Memory and Company of Oakville together with their entire staff who provided a caring, compassionate, and respectful environment for Paul.

A gathering to remember and share memories of Paul will be held at a later date.

It sounds a bit corny, but we always consider ourselves a 'family' with our clients because that's how they refer to us, and Paul, you made that so easy. We saw right through you -- behind that intelligent and thoughtful gentleman, was a heart of a kind soul. You brought out the best
in all of us, Paul. Thank you.

I will miss my Uncle Paul immensely. He was charismatic, so generous, so kind, and larger than life. A role model and favourite person to me. I am happy he is now with his sister/my Mom, Ann Kristoffy, and his Mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Little. Rest in peace, Uncle Paul.

I didn't know Paul well but I knew how people who knew him much better thought of him and I also saw how he carried himself and interacted with others... to me, Paul seemed the epitome of class and kindness

It was with immense sadness that I learned of Paul´s passing whilst in Toronto last week. We were lifelong friends having grown up together, just two houses apart. In the West End of Toronto. Our families were very close.
Paul introduced me to my husband, Tom, and both he and his sister Ann were in our wedding party
He di not comprehend Ann´s death a year ago, but, it gives me joy to know that they are once again together to continue their love for each other.
My condolences to his children Katie and Peter. May he rest in peace with his father, mother (Betty Little) and sister Ann Kristoffy.

My deepest condolences to Marylou and the entire family during this incredibly difficult time. I was so fortunate to have been accepted by Paul as an intern after my first year of university. From the very beginning, he made a profound impact on me, not just as a professional, but as a person who exemplified what true leadership, hard work, and a commitment to community and social value look like. Paul had this unique ability to make you feel like you belonged, like you were capable of achieving so much more than you thought possible.

One story I often share is from when Paul took me to lunch with a client. I was just a university student at the time, but the client somehow thought I was a law student articling with his firm. Rather than correct them right away, Paul just smiled, letting me hold my own in the conversation. That small gesture, in such a weird and unexpected way, gave me a huge boost of confidence. It was a moment that stuck with me and really exemplified who Paul was-someone who believed in giving people a chance, and letting them grow into the best version of themselves.

I think back often to my time working with Paul. He gave me a chance when I was just starting out, and I´ve tried to carry that forward in my own career by doing the same for others. His influence continues to shape the way I lead and the way I see the world, and I know I´m just one of many who feel this way. Paul´s kindness, generosity, and belief in others will be missed, but his legacy will live on in all of us whose lives he touched so deeply.

A kind and gentle man that always had time for others..there was a warmth to Paul that invited you into the conversation...and what a great talker he was...non-stop... particularly in the middle of your back swing ! May his many fond memories bring strength and peace to all his family. Paul´s powerhouse smile will live in our hearts forever. Rest in peace , my friend.
