PAUL DOUGLAS NEWALL

Paul Douglas Newall (75) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at his home in Alton on February 12, 2026. Loving husband to Stephanie; devoted father to Katie (Jen), Colette (Rick), John, Andrew, and Alexander. Joyful grandfather to Koree. Predeceased by his father, Homer; mother, Margaret; brother, Douglas; and nieces, Alana and Malinda. He is loved and remembered by many. Paul was passionate about the environment and serving his community. He volunteered with many local groups, such as the Alton Grange Committee, the Credit River Alliance, the Alton Scout group, and the Alton Legion branch 449. He was dedicated to his work in the energy sector, with a long career at Ontario Power Generation, followed by a second career as a consultant within the same field. In retirement, Paul loved travelling with his wife, working in his extensive gardens and could often be found enjoying his music on the front porch in the sunshine. A memorial service will be held at Dods & McNair Funeral Home in Orangeville on Sunday, March 1, 2026; visitation at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Refreshments will follow and all are welcome. Donations in Paul's memory may be made to Ontario Headwaters Institute or Bethell Hospice.
